About the Montrose County Libertarian Party
The Montrose County Libertarian Party (MCLP) is a fresh, new political party committee in Montrose that started on November 4th, 2006. The MCLP became an official affiliate to the Libertarian Party of Colorado in April, 2007. The MCLP is capable of placing Libertarian candidates on the ballot in Montrose County.
Members of the MCLP are simply those who register to vote as a Libertarian in Montrose County. No membership dues or fees are required. If you would like to become a member, either go the county clerk and register to vote as a Libertarian or go online and register at the Secretary of State's website...
The purpose of the MCLP is to expand the affiliate by promoting Libertarian principles; supporting ballot initiatives that reflect Libertarian Party precepts and principles; and promoting, supporting and electing registered Libertarian candidates for political office. MCLP as a group may not endorse candidates not registered as Libertarians.
One of the major goals of the MCLP is to provide public awareness of political wrong-doings, as you will not typically find the liberty-side of opinion in any local media source!
